Joint Technical Committee Meeting

January 10 - 14, 2016 • Memphis, Tennessee, USA

Memphis…the home of the blues, the starting place for soul and the birthplace of rock ‘n roll! If you arrive in advance of the meetings or have time after hours, visit Graceland, Sun Studio, the STAX Museum of American Soul Music or the Memphis Rock ‘n Soul Museum. At night, take a walk down Beale Street and listen to the live music. Basketball fans may want to get tickets to the FedEx Forum for a Memphis Grizzlies game (during the week of the program, there are three home game opportunities).

Don’t miss the opportunities to visit historic and cultural venues, too, including the Orpheum Theater, The National Civil Rights Museum, Memphis Brooks Museum of Art or Dixon Gallery and Gardens.

And don’t forget about the fine southern-style soul food and barbecue, offered at more than 100 barbecue spots alone, plus fine dining, authentic Italian and Mexican, burger joints, award-winning chefs and breweries, just to name a few.

MemphisTravel.com is the place to get information about attractions, restaurant, nightlife and more, so that you can make the most of your stay in Memphis. Several other sites are listed here, too, to assist you with your plans.

Please note the following relative to JTCM 2016:

  1. The Host Hotel is the Sheraton Memphis Downtown. Reservations can be made via the link under the Hotel Reservations tab on this site.
  2. Meetings will take place in two areas – the Sheraton Memphis Downtown on their Conference Level AND the Memphis Cook Convention Center. We will do our best to locate committee/subcommittee meetings adjacent to one another (similar to the design of the 2013 program, also held in Memphis).
  3. Program registration will take place at the Memphis Cook Convention Center in the Grand Lobby, adjacent to Lobby Level Rooms 7 & 8.
  4. The Registration Desk Phone Number is 817-554-5378.
  5. A link to MATA Transit, the Memphis area transit system website, is included here - http://www.matatransit.com/. This will provide you with complete information on the trolley system, with a stop located right at the Sheraton. Three-day trolley passes for $9.00 are available for purchase on the JTCM registration site. Use of the trolley system will expand your dining opportunities throughout the downtown Memphis area, as well as sightseeing opportunities, if you arrive prior to the beginning of the meetings.

Please be advised that we will need information on MATA pass purchase no later than December 18, 2015, so that we may order the appropriate number of passes. After this date, trolley passes are non-refundable.
